Job summary

Ector County Independent School District Transportation in Odessa, TX seeks a Dispatcher to ensure all routes are covered, coordinate drivers and substitutes, and communicate with parents about schedules. Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED preferred
• Knowledge of record keeping and clerical skills; computer skills
• Ability to read maps and give clear directions
• Possess or obtain a Class B CDL with P & S endorsements; state certification as a school bus driver
• Experience in school transportation or related field

Responsibilities

• Ensure all drivers log in as they report to work
• Communicate with drivers, driver specialists and substitutes by radio
• Monitor drivers for signs of fatigue or safety concerns
• Assign and log driver specialists and substitute assignments
• Coordinate with lead mechanics about disabled buses
• Communicate with parents and district personnel about late buses or trips
• Drive a route or trip when needed
• Perform other duties as directed by the Director of Transportation
