Job summary

Irving ISD is seeking an experienced Dispatcher to coordinate daily bus operations, oversee route assignments, and support field trips. You will monitor radio communications, dispatch buses, and relay critical information to drivers using GPS and live data systems.

The role requires a high school diploma, relevant certifications, and strong communication skills. You will work the afternoon shift, collaborate with the Transportation Department, and ensure safe, timely transportation for students

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Texas School Bus Driver Certification preferred
• Valid Texas Commercial Driver’s License - Class A or B CDL with P and S endorsements preferred
• Ability to pass annual DOT physical examination and random drug testing
• Train the Trainer Certification preferred
• One year flex driver preferred

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily bus routes, including extra-curricular trips and field trips, with drivers.
• Dispatch buses, monitor GPS, and respond to radio calls; relay information to drivers.
• Maintain professional communication with customers and stakeholders.
• Assist with pickup/drop-off locations and route planning for students.
• Support summer school routes and staff assignments; ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Follow safety rules and district policies; contribute to operational improvements.
