Job summary

Noble Hearts HR Consulting & Staffing, in partnership with Assisted Student Transportation, seeks a dependable Transportation Aide in Olathe, Kansas, to support safe student transport. The role involves assisting with loading, supervision, safety restraints, and mobility needs, working alongside drivers to ensure passenger well-being.

The ideal candidate is patient, safety-conscious, and comfortable with children, including those with special needs.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Drug screening will be required.
• Physical examination and physical duties assessment may be required.
• Criminal background checks, including fingerprinting, required.
• First Aid and CPR Certification must be obtained.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Dependable, professional, safety-focused.
• Ability to follow student transportation procedures.
• Ability to work with children of different ages and needs.

Responsibilities

• Safely assist students with loading and unloading from transportation vehicles.
• Secure passengers using car seats, boosters, seat belts, wheelchair equipment.
• Push and maneuver wheelchairs on and off vehicles as needed.
• Monitor students during transportation for safety and well-being.
• Maintain visibility and provide assistance to passengers within the vehicle.
• Ensure no student is left unattended on the vehicle.
• Follow all child safety procedures and passenger safety rules.
• Assist with vehicle interior cleanliness and safety.
• Support safe evacuation in emergencies and accidents.
• Assist the driver with backing the vehicle or when extra observation is needed.
• Learn assigned routes and help substitute drivers with route information.
• Maintain professional communication with students, families, school staff, and drivers.
