Job summary

Evergreen Public Schools is seeking a part-time Traffic Safety Monitor at Pacific Middle School in Vancouver, WA. The role supports safe access to and from campus, directs bus/visitor traffic, and assists with discipline under the principal’s guidance.

Ideal candidates communicate clearly, maintain confidentiality, and can complete required First Aid/CPR. Hours are 9:05–9:35 and 4:05–4:35, 190 days/year, with benefits for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and the public.
• Ability to apply behavior management techniques with students.
• Ability to prepare legible reports/documents and give clear verbal instructions.
• Knowledge of rights of students and related legal aspects.
• Must demonstrate honesty, integrity and confidentiality in handling security matters.
• Punctuality and dependability with minimal supervision.
• Must obtain First Aid/CPR card within 45 days of employment.
• Ability to establish positive relationships as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with students, staff and the general public.
• Monitor and direct bus, parent and visitor traffic.
• Flag traffic to provide safe access for walking and riding students.
• Carry out discipline procedures as defined by the building principal.
• Record student behavior and provide a written report to the principal.
• Provide safety-related information to leadership.
• Perform First Aid/CPR when necessary.
