Job summary

Strides Therapy & Educational Services in Frederick, MD seeks an in-person School Therapist/Licensed Clinical Social Worker to support students in Frederick County Public Schools. You will provide direct services, consultation, and collaborate with school staff and families to promote academic and social-emotional success.

The role requires an MSW, active Maryland LMSW/LCSW/LCSW-C, and a Maryland School Social Worker endorsement or eligibility.

Qualifications

• Valid Maryland MSDE educator certificate with School Social Worker endorsement or eligibility.
• Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from a CSWE-accredited program.
• Active Maryland social work license: LMSW, LCSW, or LCSW-C.
• Prefer experience in a school or pediatric setting.
• Prefer knowledge of Maryland COMAR regulations and IDEA/504 laws.
• Strong assessment, counseling, and case management skills.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
• Commitment to cultural competence and serving a diverse student population.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated, empathetic, and experienced in-person School Therapist/Licensed Clinical Social Worker to join our team in Frederick County Public Schools. As a School Social Worker, you will be a vital link between the school, home, and community to support students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional success. You will provide direct services, as well as consultation, to help students and families navigate challenges and access resources. This role is critical in developing a healthy school climate and providing interventions that address barriers to learning.

Additional Details

Position 1: Full-Time School Therapist/Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Dates: December through the end of the school year

Hours: 8:00am to 3:30pm (up to 35 hours per week)

Travel: Travels to multiple schools during the week (average of 8 schools)

Position 2: Full-Time School Therapist/Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Dates: November through April 2027

Hours: 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM (up to 35 hours per week)

Travel: Travels to multiple schools during the week (average of 8 schools)

• Prefer experience working as a Social Worker in a school or pediatric setting.
• Prefer knowledge of Maryland COMAR regulations and federal laws (IDEA, Section 504) governing special education.
• Strong assessment, counseling, and case management skills.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
• Commitment to cultural competence and serving a diverse student population.
• Ability to work independently, manage a caseload effectively, and adapt to the changing needs of a school environment.
