Job summary

Strides Therapy & Educational Services in Mechanicsville, MD is seeking a dedicated in-person School Psychologist on a contract basis to provide comprehensive testing, counseling, and consultation in a school setting.

The ideal candidate holds a Maryland School Psychologist license or eligibility, has NASP-aligned training, and can collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student well-being and learning. Salary is commensurate with experience at $65 per hour.

Qualifications

• Current Maryland School Psychologist license or MSDE eligibility.
• MD state license or education certification as School Psychologist.
• Educator Certificate if applicable.
• Prefer experience in a school setting and knowledge of laws.
• Strong testing, counseling and intervention skills.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated, empathetic, and experienced in-person School Psychologist to join our team on a contract basis. As a School Psychologist, you will provide comprehensive psychological services to students, collaborate with educators and families, and contribute to fostering a healthy learning environment. You will work in a school setting, offering evaluation, consultation, intervention, and prevention services that support students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral well-being.

• Responsibilities: Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations to determine students' cognitive, emotional, and behavioral needs.
• Collaborate with educators, parents, and school staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
• Provide counseling and interventions to support students' emotional and mental health needs.
• Participate in multidisciplinary teams to address students' academic and behavioral challenges.
• Offer consultation and training to school personnel on strategies to improve learning environments and student outcomes.
• Promote positive mental health through prevention programs, crisis intervention, and school-wide initiatives.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from a NASP-approved/accredited program
• Valid MD state license or state department of education certification (as needed) as a School Psychologist
• Educator Certificate (if applicable)
• Prefer experience working as a School Psychologist in a school setting.
• Prefer knowledge of state and federal special education laws and regulations.
• Strong skills in psychological testing, counseling, and intervention techniques.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
• Commitment to cultural competence and diversity.
• Passion for working with children and adolescents in educational settings.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing needs
