Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a School Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for a travel assignment in Oxnard, CA. The SLPA will assist the Speech Language Pathologist, contribute to clinical, educational, and documentation activities, and operate within the care plan.

The ideal candidate holds an SLPA degree or related bachelor’s in SLP/communication disorders, with 100 hours fieldwork and current licensure. Must meet health, TB, and regulatory requirements and be at least 18.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an SLPA program with an associate’s degree or a bachelor’s in SLP/communication disorders.
• Minimum of 100 supervised fieldwork hours or clinical equivalent.
• Current SLPA certification/licensure where required by state.
• Complies with professional standards of practice.
• At least 18 years of age and eligible to work in the U.S.
• TB/health documentation as per contract and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Speech-Language Pathologist in delivering speech-language services.
• Support documentation and treatment activities within the plan of care.
• Work within established scope and school settings to support students.

Education

Associate’s degree in SLPA or bachelor’s in Speech-Language Pathology/Communication Disorders

The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant assists the SpeechLanguage Pathologist in providing speech and language services. The Speech Language Pathologist Assistantwill have clinical, educational, documentation, and treatment relatedactivities while working within the scope of responsibilities/ plan of careassigned by the Speech Language Pathologist and/or physician.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be a graduate of a SLPA program with an associate’sdegree, or have a bachelor’s degree in a speech-language pathology orcommunication disorders program

• Successful completion of a minimum of 100 hours ofsupervised field work experience or its clinical experience equivalent asrequired by state and/or contract

• Current certification or licensure as a Speech-LanguagePathology Assistant in the State of Practice

• Complies with all relevantprofessional standards ofpractice

• One (1) year of prior professional Speech-Language PathologyAssistant experience preferred

• Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice

• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

• Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)

• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
