Responsibilities

• Identify students with potential speech and language disorders using screening tests and other methods.
• Develop an efficient referral procedure to respond to requests for services by teachers, parents and others.
• Select, administer and analyze diagnostic assessments to identify students with speech and language disorders.
• Develop and implement an individual education plan (IEP) with recommended therapy services.
• Provide an array of speech and language therapy services to students based on individual needs.
• Maintain accurate and current records on students and communicate with teachers and parents.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to benefit students and participate in continuing education.
• Direct the activities of speech-language assistants to implement services.
