Calhoun County Schools in Anniston, Alabama seeks a Speech Language Pathologist to fill a 187-day position under the board salary schedule. You will assess, develop, and implement IEPs, coordinate with teachers and parents, and maintain confidentiality of student records while delivering effective communication support to eligible students.

The ideal candidate holds a graduate degree (master’s) and a valid Alabama Teacher’s Certificate in Speech Therapy, plus a valid Alabama driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Completion of a graduate program in an accredited institution which granted a minimum of a master’s degree
• Valid Alabama Teacher’s Certificate in Speech Therapy
• Valid Alabama Driver’s License
• Demonstration and record of sound moral character
• Strong organization, communication, and leadership skills

Responsibilities

• Assist, coordinate, and provide instruction for students qualifying under IDEA
• Develop, revise as needed, and implement IEPs according to mandates of IDEA
• Facilitate strong communication between other faculty members and parents
• Maintains professional competence and continuous improvement through in-service education and other professional growth activities as required or assigned.
• Ensures confidentiality of all students' records, grades, performance and all other related matters.
• Establishes and maintains a professional level of rapport with other teachers, team leaders, department heads, district-level coordinators and/or program directors, and instructional support and service employees of the school district.
• Demonstrates a positive and technically competent set of parent/community relations' skills including oral communication, written communications, and listening skills in group and one‑on‑one situations as necessary.
• Models appropriate personal characteristics and work habits that are consistent with personal development goals.
• Establishes and maintains proper and professional relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and community members.
• Abides by the Alabama Educator Code of Ethics.
• Be familiar with and follow Calhoun County Board of Education Policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
