Job summary

The Illinois Association of School Administrators is seeking a qualified speech-language pathologist to support students with speech, voice, and language impairments within a school setting. Responsibilities include conducting screenings, referring cases as needed, and guiding staff in recognizing and addressing speech and language needs.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a resource to school staff members in the development of a balanced program for oral communication and speech improvement.
• Provides a therapeutic program to meet individual speech needs of children.
• Assists and guides teachers in observing, describing, and referring suspected an identified speech and language impairments.
• Provides a thorough assessment and diagnosis of speech, voice, and language impairments.
• Provides screening to identify children with speech needs at regular intervals and at specified levels.
• Assists in proper referrals of individualized programs of therapy to meet individual students’ needs and correct existing speech or language handicaps.
• Provides appropriate individualized programs of therapy to meet individual students’ needs and correct existing speech or language handicaps.
• Collaborates with classroom teachers and other school staff members to implement therapy by suggestions for the student’s daily activities.
