Job summary

HABERSHAM COUNTY SCHOOLS is seeking a certified Speech-Language Pathologist to provide direct services within a school setting. The role requires collaboration with the Student Support Team, teachers, and families to support students’ communication needs.

The SLP will assess and treat students, develop IEP goals, maintain records, and participate in meetings and professional development. A Bachelor's degree with a Master's preferred and S4/S5 certification are desired.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with Master's preferred; S4 or S5 certificate. Any exception will be left to the discretion of the Board of Education.
• Experience working with children on speech skills.
• Written and oral communication skills; student management; supervisory and leadership abilities; ability to apply varied instructional strategies connecting curriculum to learners.

Responsibilities

• Follows professional practices consistent with school policies in working with students and families.
• Interacts professionally with students and parents and conducts conferences when needed.
• Facilitates home–school communication through meetings, calls and written updates.
• Maintains confidentiality of students and records and collaborates with staff and administration.
• Conducts speech/language screenings and evaluations; implements IEP goals and services.
• Maintains accurate records and files; participates in staff meetings and RTI/Student Support Team activities.
