Job summary

Olathe Schools seeks a licensed Social Worker to join the Special Services team at Olathe Northwest High School. You will provide direct services to students and families, support IEP processes, and collaborate with teachers to promote inclusive learning environments.

The role requires a Master’s in Social Work, KS license, and at least three years of experience with trauma or mental health challenges. The position is full-time, on-site at the high school and involves data collection and family

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work required.
• Minimum of three years supporting students with trauma histories and mental health needs.
• Licensed School Social Worker (Master’s level) in Kansas.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct services to students and families within the context of multicultural understanding and competence that enhance families’ support of students learning experiences.
• Provides direct services to students in ways that build upon individual strengths and empower participation in learning.
• Develops and provides training and educational programs aligned with the school’s goals and mission.
• Collaborates with general education staff to support successful inclusion in the classroom.
• Maintains regular communication with families through IEP and evaluation meetings.
• Participates in multidisciplinary evaluations for the special education process.
