Job summary

Vassalboro Community School is seeking a dedicated School Social Worker to join our team in Maine. You will help foster a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment and support students and families across Behavioral and Life Skills programs.

The successful candidate will develop student support plans, implement IEP goals, provide crisis intervention and maintain accurate records while collaborating with teachers, administrators, staff and community providers.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Work required.
• Active LCSW required.
• Previous school-based experience preferred.
• Strong communication, collaboration and organizational skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, families and school personnel.
• Experience providing evidence-based social emotional and behavioral interventions.
• Knowledge of child and adolescent development, trauma-informed practices and positive behavioral interventions.
• Willing to learn MaineCare billing and Ed-Tech supervision as required by MaineCare.

Responsibilities

• Foster a safe, welcoming and inclusive school environment through proactive, preventative practices in Behavioral and Life Skills programs.
• Maintain accurate documentation and meet district, state and federal requirements.
• Support initiatives that promote positive student behavior.
• Assist in the development and implementation of student support plans and IEP goals.
• Provide crisis intervention and support when called upon.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, staff, families and community providers.
