Qualifications

• Qualified candidates must hold valid licensure for the state they are working in.
• Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) issued by the state licensing authority.
• MOECS School Social Work certification in Michigan.

Responsibilities

• Provide group and individual counseling sessions for special education students per IEPs and monitor IEP goals.
• Provide group and individual counseling for general education students and monitor responses to interventions.
• Develop and monitor behavior intervention plans with teachers.
• Complete psychosocial assessments to aid in determining services.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments and communicate results in parent-friendly language.
• Complete risk assessments on students for school social work services.
• Establish relationships with students and parents and participate in school planning.
• Identify community resources and make referrals to support educational and behavioral interventions.
• Provide staff consultation on behavioral-emotional-environmental issues and collaborate on strategies.
• Provide crisis intervention services and maintain state-required clinical records.
