Minnesota Online High School (MNOHS) is a small, public online high school open to any Minnesota resident in grades 9 - 12. The mission of MNOHS is to engage, inspire, and educate the whole student for an options-rich future through a challenging, flexible, teacher-developed curriculum; with the encouragement of responsive faculty and staff; within a creative and supportive learning community.
The majority of our students choose MNOHS as their enrolling school (comprehensive enrollment) while some split their enrollment between MNOHS and their home district (supplemental enrollment). Students attend MNOHS for a number of reasons: conflicts with training for athletics or the arts; work or family responsibilities that make attending a bricks-and-mortar classroom impossible; chronic health problems; or difficulty scheduling the courses a student wants or needs at his/her enrolling school. The MNOHS curriculum emphasizes college readiness by providing students with opportunities to develop creativity, critical thinking, reading, writing, mathematics, and 21st Century skills across the curriculum. Students work on SEL lessons and build relationships at the same time as working on academic content courses.
MNOHS Vision: At MNOHS, all students define their unique identities and entry points into adult life; their reasons to persist and to stretch toward excellence; and their individual and collective purposes that make school, work and life meaningful. MNOHS supports students to engage with learning not only online but everywhere adults will support their achievement
