You will collaborate with teachers and families, participate in IEP meetings, and monitor progress toward social-emotional goals, with potential secondary-level duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Must hold an Illinois Professional Educator License with School Social Worker endorsement.
• Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited program is required.
• Experience with school-aged children is preferred; strong counseling skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to students facing behavioral, emotional, family or mental health challenges.
• Help students develop coping skills, emotional regulation, social skills and positive behaviors.
• Serve primarily elementary students, with potential support at the secondary level.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families and multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in IEP meetings and deliver social work services for identified students.
• Connect students and families with school-based and community resources.
• Support attendance, behavior, crisis intervention and academic success initiatives.
• Conduct assessments, document progress and monitor social-emotional goals.
• Advocate for students to address social, family and environmental barriers.

Job Title: School Social Worker
Location: Rockford, IL
Position Type: Full Time Contract (W2)
Start Date: ASAP (~2 weeks from offer to allow for onboarding)
Pay Rate: $43-$50/HR dep. on experience

We are seeking a compassionate and collaborative School Social Worker to support primarily elementary students, with the possibility of serving secondary students as needed. The School Social Worker will provide counseling, social-emotional support, and resources to help students overcome barriers and succeed academically, behaviorally, and socially.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement.
• Masters degree in Social Work from an accredited program.
• Experience working with school-aged children, particularly elementary students, preferred.
• Strong counseling, crisis-intervention, communication, and collaboration skills.

Job Responsibilities:
