Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a School Social Worker to support elementary students in a Maple Park area district. The position is on-site for grades K-5 from Aug 12, 2026 to Nov 4, 2026, with potential extension. You will collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to nurture social-emotional well-being.

Licensed and experienced candidates will deliver direct support, develop student plans, and lead SEL-focused workshops while maintaining confidentiality and strong professional judgment.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois SSW license and PEL.
• Experience providing social work services in a school setting (K-5 preferred).
• Strong knowledge of child development, crisis intervention, and classroom consultation.
• Effective communication and collaboration with students, staff, and families.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct social and emotional support to students, individually and in small groups.
• Collaborate with general and special education teams to develop and implement student support plans and IEP goals.
• Serve as a liaison between school, home, and community resources to connect families with necessary supports; provide crisis intervention as needed.
• Lead classroom presentations or workshops on topics related to social-emotional learning, conflict resolution, or peer relationships.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with school and district protocols.

Job description

Embark on a fulfilling contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a School Social Worker for a friendly district near Maple Park, IL. This on-site role serves K-5th grade students and spans from August 12, 2026, through November 4, 2026, with the potential for extension based on district need. Your contributions will help nurture the social and emotional well-being of young learners and collaborate closely with teachers, staff, and families.
