Job summary

Cohasset Public Schools is seeking a School Social Worker LT Sub to provide direct support to students facing social/emotional barriers and to assist with Social Emotional Learning initiatives across Cohasset High School. This role reports to the Director of Student Services and building principals.

Responsibilities include counseling students, engaging families, coordinating with outside agencies, and participating in SST meetings to promote positive academic and behavioral outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work and/or Counseling is required or preferred.
• Massachusetts certification is required.
• Two to three years of experience in public schools is preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Counsel students whose behavior, progress, or condition requires assistance.
• Encourage parents and students to participate through frequent communication.
• Consult with staff and parents regarding student concerns.
• Interface with outside agencies to support students.
• Participate in Child Study/SST meetings.
• Use background knowledge for students with social/emotional challenges.
• Provide advice to teachers on interventions to support learning and SEL.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to support student growth.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Director of Student Services.
