Long-Term Substitute Social Worker - General Education

(November 2026-February 2027)

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide direct social-emotional and behavioral support services to students through individual counseling, small-group interventions, and classroom-based support.
• Facilitate and support the implementation of a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework to promote student success.
• Establish and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with students, families, staff, and community stakeholders through effective communication and partnership.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), conduct Section 504 evaluations, and develop and implement appropriate intervention plans and accommodations.
• Promote positive behavior and mental health by teaching and reinforcing skills related to peer relationships, problem-solving, anger management, conflict resolution, coping strategies, and resilience.
• Participate in diagnostic, assessment, and educational planning teams, providing expertise and assessment data to support students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
• Serve as a liaison between home and school, connecting families with appropriate resources and increasing family engagement in student success.
• Coordinate and collaborate with community agencies and outside support providers to develop a comprehensive network of care for students and families.
• Serve as an active member of the district crisis response team, supporting prevention, intervention, and recovery efforts.
• Maintain professional competence through ongoing professional development, participation in professional organizations, attendance at workshops and conferences, and review of current research and best practices in the field.
• This position requires regular and reliable in-person attendance.
