Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
• Colorado Department of Education School Social Work Special Services License (CDE SS License).
• Social Worker License issued by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA).
• National Association of Social Workers–SS Specialist Certification (NASW SS).

Responsibilities

• Provide group and individual counseling to special education students per IEPs and monitor related goals.
• Provide counseling to general education students and monitor responses to interventions.
• Develop and monitor behavior intervention plans with teachers.
• Complete psychosocial assessments to assist in determining special education services.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments and communicate results in parent-friendly language.
• Complete risk assessments on students referred for school social work services.
• Establish relationships with students and parents and participate in school planning.
• Identify community resources and refer students to facilitate interventions.
• Provide staff consultation on behavioral-emotional-environmental issues to promote learning.
• Provide crisis intervention services.
• Maintain state-required clinical records and submit documents for statistical reports.
