Job summary

Anne Arundel County Public Schools seeks a licensed social worker to provide intensive counseling and family intervention for students in traditional or virtual settings. The role supports school staff, reduces barriers to learning, and may require bilingual biliteracy depending on assignment.

Responsibilities include individual/ group therapy, family interviews, and collaboration with community agencies. Requires MSW and relevant licensure; 1 year of school-based experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Work from a regionally accredited college or university required.
• One (1) year experience providing social work services in a clinical or school setting dealing with children/adolescents and their families required.
• One (1) year experience with virtual learning technology, remote instruction platforms, LMS, and video conferencing tools required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts in-person or virtual individual therapy and/or group counseling on a regular basis; provides necessary counseling and other related services to students with disabilities according to their IEPs.
• Interviews student and family members to determine nature and degree of needs.
• Coordinates and collaborates with community agencies to assist students when needed.
• Plans and conducts professional development trainings and individual consultations for teachers in-classroom management, curriculum planning and instructional techniques, the handling of behavior and other problems, and issues related to special education, child abuse, sexual harassment, and crisis prevention and intervention.
