Job summary

NCIA's Youth In Transition School seeks a dedicated School-Based Social Worker to provide individual, family, and group therapy within a therapeutic non-public school setting. The role emphasizes trauma-informed care, crisis response, and collaboration with educators to support social-emotional goals and student success.

Applicants should hold an MSW and a Maryland LGSW license (LCSW-C preferred) with experience serving children and families in educational or clinical contexts.

Qualifications

• MSW required and Maryland LGSW license
• Trauma-informed care and crisis response experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of IEPs and special education processes
• Therapeutic school or similar setting experience is highly valued

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, family, and group therapy using evidence-based approaches

• Collaborate with teachers and clinicians to support behavior and academics
• Contribute to IEP development with social-emotional goals
