Job summary

Hazel Park School District is seeking a School Social Worker for Hazel Park Junior High School for the 2026-2027 school year. The successful candidate will manage an active direct service caseload of students with IEPs within a center-based day treatment setting, and participate in multidisciplinary assessments.

The role requires strong assessment skills, knowledge of IDEA and Michigan Special Education Rules, and the ability to collaborate with families, staff, and community resources.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work with MI school social work eligibility.
• Full approval or eligibility for School Social Work in Michigan.
• Experience with I-Ready Map Testing, SAT, PSAT, MStep and MiAccess.
• Ability to implement IDEA and Michigan Special Education Rules (IEP process, timelines).
• Strong assessment background and data-driven decision making.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an active direct service caseload of students with IEPs.
• Participate in multidisciplinary assessments and evaluations.
• Develop and monitor IEPs and Behavioral Intervention Plans.
• Collaborate with families and community resources.
• Support school culture with firm, fair, consistent practices.
• Utilize data to monitor student growth and inform interventions.
