Job summary

The Michigan Department of Education (MDE) seeks a Clinical Social Worker 9-P11 to support Deaf or hard of hearing students at the Michigan School for the Deaf in Flint. The school social worker provides direct services to students and collaborates within a multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• A master's degree is required.
• Must possess one of the following certifications: School Social Worker Permit; Full School Social Worker Approval; Preliminary School Social Worker Certificate; or Professional School Social Worker Certificate.
• Ability to communicate using American Sign Language (ASL).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct social work services to Deaf or hard of hearing (DHH) students identified in IEPs.
• Provide indirect support to DHH students facing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges in school.
