Job summary

Mesa Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Social Worker (Title I) in Mesa, AZ to support students’ academic and emotional well-being. Arizona certification, IVP clearance, and recommended letters of recommendation are required; the role emphasizes equity, collaboration, and confidential services.

The position involves crisis intervention, coordination with community agencies, home visits, and maintaining compliant records to sustain a safe educational environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field.
• Master’s degree in social work is required.
• ADE Certification for Social Work is required if funded by federal grants.
• Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Valid Arizona driver’s license and ability to make home visits.
• Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a liaison between family, school, and community agencies.
• Conduct home visits and assess students’ educational and social needs.
• Identify and report abuse or neglect to appropriate agencies.
• Provide intervention services during crises as needed.
• Coordinate with outside service agencies for referrals.
• Plan and conduct in-service trainings on intervention issues.
• Maintain accurate records in compliance with regulations.
• Assist with gathering clothing, shoes, and hygiene items.
• May provide transportation for students/families with administrative approval.
