Job summary

Explore Schools is seeking a dedicated Social Worker or School Counselor for a leave replacement role in Brooklyn, NY. In-person work is required; the position focuses on supporting students’ social, emotional, and behavioral development while coordinating with families, teachers, and support services.

The candidate must hold NYS certification and have 1–2 years of urban school experience. This leave replacement starts December 1 and runs through June 1, with a salary scale reflecting experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• New York State certification as School Social Worker, or Clinical Social Worker license, or School Counselor certificate, or Psychologist license.
• 1–2 years urban school experience required.
• Understanding of IEP mandates.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling for students.
• Assist in IEP processes including referrals, development, and progress monitoring.
• Maintain accurate records and coordinate with families and ACS as needed.
• Deliver trainings/workshops to teachers and staff.
• Support MTSS processes and social-emotional learning across the day.
