Job summary

The School Social Worker at Leona Group Schools supports student success by addressing social, emotional, behavioral, and environmental challenges that impact learning. Partners with students, families, staff, and community organizations to provide interventions and resources that promote well-being and academics.

As part of the Leona Group Schools network, you will collaborate with peers across sister campuses, participate in professional development, and contribute to schoolwide initiatives

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work or Psychology required.
• ADE Social Worker or Counselor Certification required (must apply prior to contract start date).
• 1-3 years school social work experience or the equivalent, providing the skills and knowledge necessary to plan and implement meaningful and effective guidance and social work activities.
• Excellent skills in project planning and in coordinating multiple short- and long-term projects.
• Evidence of successful experience in student/parent relations.
• IVP Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group interventions that support students' social, emotional, behavioral, and academic needs.
• Assess student and family needs, identify barriers to learning, and develop appropriate support plans using evidence-informed practices.
• Partner with families, educators, and school leaders to promote student success and positive school culture.
• Connect students and families with community resources, social services, and outside agencies.
• Collaborate with fellow social workers, school counselors, and student support teams across Leona Group Schools to share resources, strategies, and best practices.
• Consult with teachers and school staff to develop effective interventions and strengthen student support systems.
• Engage in professional development, team meetings, and schoolwide SEL initiatives.
• Support crisis intervention, response, and follow-up services, including collaboration with Leona-wide crisis response teams.
• Mentor and support less experienced social workers as appropriate.
• Develop and implement social work services aligned with professional standards and campus needs.
