Job summary

Delta-Schoolcraft ISD Special Education in Escanaba, Michigan is seeking a School Social Worker to support students with disabilities. The role includes direct intervention, consultation with staff and parents, and collaboration with community agencies.

Qualifications

• MSW from graduate school of Social Work program approved by the State Board of Education.
• Temporary or Full Approval as a School Social Worker in Michigan.

Responsibilities

• Provide through consultation with professional staff and parents, or direct intervention with the student, assistance in reducing social barriers to education.
• Provide specially designed individual and group treatment services to meet the needs of children with disabilities in accordance with IEP directives.
• Provide mediation to resolve conflicts between student, home, school and community.
• Assist teachers with classroom intervention techniques.
• Liaise between schools, parents, and human service agencies as needed.
