Job summary

Onward Education is partnering with a Macomb County, MI school district to hire a full-time School Social Worker for the 2026-2027 school year. The role is in-person, with an expectation of 32-35 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

The School Social Worker will provide social-emotional and behavioral support, develop and monitor IEP-related services, and collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to promote student success. A Master’s in Social Work and state certification are required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work.
• Valid School Social Work certification from the Michigan Department of Education.
• Experience working with students in an academic setting preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide social-emotional and behavioral support to students in classroom and small-group settings.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP-related social work services to address student needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support academic, behavioral, and social success.
