Job summary

Heartland AEA in Johnston, IA seeks a licensed Master’s level school social worker to support children birth to age 21 within school and community settings. Requires MSW, Iowa license, and understanding of public school services; two years of relevant experience preferred.

You will collaborate with families and educators to design, implement, and evaluate interventions, promote social-emotional learning, and coordinate early intervention services where needed.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work from an accredited program.
• Appropriate license/certification from the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners.
• Training in education and understanding of public school services and special education are preferred.
• Two years of successful experience in public school social work or child-related social work is preferred.

• May work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to identify early intervention services for infants and toddlers.
• Serves as an advocate for all children and youth.

Education
