Job summary

SchoolHouse Staffing is seeking a licensed School Social Worker for a full-time, 11-month contract with a Chicago Heights area school district for the 2026–2027 year. You will support students in special education, collaborate with IEP teams, families, and staff to remove barriers to learning, and connect students with needed resources.

Ideal candidates hold an MSW and state licensure. The role offers direct student services, home visits when needed, and ongoing support from a dedicated

Qualifications

• Master of Social Work (MSW) from an accredited university.
• State certification/licensure as a School Social Worker (or eligible alternatives approved by the district)

Responsibilities

• Conduct social-developmental case studies and identify students needing services.
• Provide direct services to students and serve as a liaison between home and school.
• Consult with IEP teams on behavior management, learning challenges, and program development.
• Write IEP goals for social work services and participate in eligibility/placement evaluations.
• Conduct home visits to obtain consent for evaluations or placement.
• Connect students and families with community resources and outside agency support.
• Participate in preschool screenings, trainings, and district social work meetings.
• Maintain accurate case records in compliance with district and legal requirements.

About the Role

SchoolHouse Staffing is hiring a School Social Worker to support a school district in the Chicago Heights area for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a full-time, 11-month contract position serving students in special education, working directly with IEP teams, families, and school staff to remove barriers to learning and connect students to the resources they need.
