Job summary

ReNEW Schools seeks a School Social Worker Coach to lead district-wide social work practice and mental health supports. This role guides clinicians, promotes MTSS and social-emotional learning, and partners with families and community providers.

The ideal candidate holds an MSW, LCSW, CT certification 071, 5+ years of experience, and is bilingual Spanish/English. The position offers collaboration under the Hartford Federation of Teachers contract.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
• Connecticut certification (071) – School Social Worker required.
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) required (within 6 months of hire).
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a certified School Social Worker.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement structured coaching cycles to enhance skill development and practitioner effectiveness.
• Maintain an active LCSW and provide clinical supervision and case reviews for school social workers accumulating hours toward their LCSW credential.
• Provide modeling and tools for individual/group counseling, conflict resolution, and anger management using evidence-based interventions.
• Facilitate School Social Work Community of Practice sessions and continuous learning opportunities.
• Assist school social workers in completing risk assessments and support crisis intervention as needed.
• Assist in developing and implementing standard crisis response procedures district-wide.
• Ensure all assigned schools maintain a functional mental health and health crisis team.
• Support participation in MTSS, 504, and PPT meetings regarding social-emotional or behavioral concerns, providing holistic bio-psychosocial insights.
• Perform other duties as assigned
