Job summary

Amergis is seeking a School Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support a school-based program in Richmond, VA. This contract-full-time role involves assisting the Speech Language Pathologist with clinical, educational, documentation, and treatment activities within the plan of care.

Requirements include an associate’s degree in SLPA or a bachelor’s in SLP/Communication Disorders, 100 hours of supervised fieldwork, current licensure, and eligibility to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Must have an associate’s degree in SLPA or a bachelor’s in SLP/Communication Disorders.
• Minimum of 100 hours of supervised field work or equivalent.
• Current SLPA certification/licensure in the state of practice.
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Speech Language Pathologist in providing speech and language services.
• Engage in clinical, educational, documentation, and treatment activities within the plan of care.
• Follow the plan of care assigned by the Speech Language Pathologist and/or physician.
• Maintain compliance with relevant professional standards of practice.
