Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from an accredited Speech Language Pathologist Assistant program.
• Valid SLPA licensure for the state of Virginia, or eligibility to obtain.
• Previous experience supporting speech and language services in a school environment preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Compassion, patience, and dedication to helping students succeed.

Responsibilities

• Assist Speech Language Pathologists in implementing treatment plans tailored to individual student needs.
• Work directly with students in group and one-on-one settings to facilitate speech and language exercises.
• Document student progress and maintain accurate records.
• Support classroom teachers and educational staff by providing strategies for communication success.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to progress reports as requested.
• Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.
• Foster a positive, encouraging environment for students and their families.
