Job summary

The Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) position at Amergis in Winchester, VA supports the Speech Language Pathologist in delivering school-based services. The SLPA will engage in clinical, educational, documentation and treatment activities within the plan of care.

Minimum requirements include an associate degree in SLPA (or a bachelor’s in SLP/communication disorders), completion of 100 hours supervised field work, and current licensure.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a SLPA program with an associate’s degree, or have a bachelor’s degree in a speech-language pathology or communication disorders program.
• Successful completion of a minimum of 100 hours of supervised field work experience or its clinical experience equivalent as required by state and/or contract.
• Current certification or licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in the State of Practice
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
• One (1) year of prior professional Speech-Language Pathology Assistant experience preferred
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Assist the SLP in providing speech and language services.
