Job summary

Gifted Healthcare seeks skilled Sign Language Interpreters to support deaf or hard of hearing students in educational environments. Interpreting, tutoring and note-taking may be required, with collaboration among teachers, peers and the IEP team to facilitate communication.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate communication among deaf or hard of hearing students (DHH) and their hearing peers, teachers, and other school personnel
• Provide tutoring and/or note-taking services
• Follow the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment guidelines of professional conduct for Educational Interpreters
• Carry out classroom management or individual behavior plans as designed by the classroom teacher and/or IEP team
