Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking a Security Associate to monitor activities, maintain a secure environment, and support safety policies at school locations. The role involves visibility, rapport with students and staff, and carrying out board policies under the principal's direction.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and the National Incident Management System (NIMS) certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• NIMS Certification (100, 200, 700) required.
• Three years of related work experience preferred or required.
• Prior military and/or law enforcement experience preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsabilités

• Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
• Respond, report and deter inappropriate actions or activities from both internal and external sources.
• Manage and monitor traffic control points as assigned.
• Maintain records on activities and students.
• Evaluate prevention measures and crisis plans; respond to emergencies.
• Provide security and crowd control for school activities, sports, and events.
• Assist Rapid Response Associates with school audits.
• Assist administrative staff in lockdown procedures.
• Prepare the crash box for the school.
• Be familiar with emergency action and evacuation plans.
• Work with School Resource Officer and local police on crime prevention techniques.
• Work with Property Managers to identify safety concerns.
• May write disciplinary referrals for students.
• Perform related work as assigned.
