Job summary

Loudoun County Public Schools is seeking a School Security Officer to assist the Principal and the Division of Safety and Security in maintaining a safe learning environment. You will help implement conduct regulations, support crisis planning, and communicate effectively with students, staff and the school community.

The role involves supervising students, participating in threat assessment, and coordinating training for personnel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Experience supervising school-age children or young adults in related fields.
• Current valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assist in general supervision to maintain order in school grounds and buildings.
• Enforce school regulations regarding conduct and safety procedures.
• Respond to losses and investigate student code violations; deter trespassers.
• Serve as mentor and positive role model to students.
• Participate in the school-based threat assessment team.
• Provide student safety and supervisory assistance on premises.
• Coordinate safety and security training for school staff.
• Establish and audit local safety procedures including crisis management.
