Job summary

Clarke County School District is seeking a sworn CCSD Police Officer to support the educational environment, ensuring safety for students, staff and visitors while enforcing laws and school policies.

The role involves investigations, coordination with public safety agencies, and emergency care. Requires POST certification, a Georgia driver’s license, and a minimum of three years’ law enforcement experience.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED; an Associate’s degree is preferred.
• Valid POST certification required; Georgia driver’s license; background clearance.
• Minimum three years of law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs area-specific duties (campus, gang task force, theft investigations) as required by assignment.
• Arrests individuals engaged in illegal activities to apprehend suspects and prevent further unlawful actions.
• Assists community law enforcement personnel within the school environment to support their work activities.
• Administers first aid to students, staff, and visitors in emergency situations for immediate medical care.
• Collaborates with community agencies to address cases involving criminal activities, gang activities, and vandalism for school safety.
• communicates safety and security policies to students, staff, and visitors, ensuring understanding and compliance.
• Investigates campus crimes and student-related incidents to resolve conflicts, take appropriate action, and refer cases to external agencies when necessary.
• Patrols school facilities to provide visibility, maintain security, and deter criminal activities.
• Responds to safety and security incidents to take appropriate actions and resolve concerns.
• Prepares reports and documents to document activities and convey information.
• Performs other related duties as assigned for the efficient functioning of the unit.
