Job summary

Cincinnati Public Schools’ Covedale ES in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Security Assistant II to support day-to-day safety of students and staff. Under supervision, you will help maintain a secure environment on school property and at events.

Qualifications include an Associate's degree or higher (or equivalent) and a high school diploma, with strong communication and supervision skills. Salary starts at $20.81 per hour and includes duties as outlined by Safety Services.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate verbally with youth and staff.
• Follow oral and written instructions.
• Experience with youth groups in multi-ethnic settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with emergency evacuations and/or shelter in place situations.
• Monitor and supervise students in hallways, restrooms, playgrounds, entrances and exits.
• Assist with pedestrian and vehicle traffic around CPS properties.
• Help stop disturbances on school grounds as directed by authorities.
• Assist visitors with directions and information.
• Limit public access to restricted areas as needed.
• Notify CPS personnel of safety concerns related to building integrity.
• Coordinate with law enforcement, fire and emergency services when required.
• Attend training and meetings with the Office of Safety Services.
• Complete and submit daily reports to the Office of Security Services.
• Perform other duties as required.
