Job summary

North Little Rock School District is seeking a full-time Security Officer for North Little Rock Middle School. The role focuses on maintaining safety by enforcing procedures, monitoring entrances, and supporting staff during school hours.

The officer will patrol campus, respond to incidents, manage parking, and assist during events, with a strong emphasis on professional conduct and student protection.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must pass a preliminary criminal background and child maltreatment check.
• Must be willing to submit to and pass a drug test upon request.
• Must have a valid Arkansas Driver's License.
• Must successfully complete eight hours of initial training, including a written exam, and pass an additional background check.
• Must meet all requirements to be licensed private security officer under Arkansas law.

Responsibilities

• Patrols school buildings and grounds before, during, and after school hours to protect against trespassing, loitering, vandalism, and similar risks.
• Responds to security service calls.
• Monitors student parking lots and directs traffic; enforces parking regulations and issues citations.
• Maintains security records, logs, and reports.
• Provides emergency intervention in situations of immediate danger.
• Collaborates with counselors, administrators, and other staff regarding student behavior and conduct.
• Directs traffic in the school parking lot during drop-off and pick-up times; supervises crowd control at school events.
