NOLA Protection Group is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Armed Security Officer to serve at Louise S. McGehee School in New Orleans, LA. The role focuses on safeguarding students, staff, and visitors at the main gate with a professional, discreet presence.

Candidates with military or law enforcement backgrounds are strongly preferred, and license to practice armed security in Louisiana is required or to be obtained promptly. This is a non-management, part-time position.

Qualifications

• Active Louisiana State Board of Private Security Examiners (LSBPSE) Armed Security Officer registration or immediate eligibility.
• Prior experience in law enforcement, military, or high-level armed security preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safeguard students, faculty, staff, and visitors across the campus property.
• Control access to the main gate and greet parents, students and guests.
• Provide a visible, approachable security presence to deter threats.
• Investigate suspicious situations and coordinate with school admins and local authorities as needed.
• Maintain continuous gate coverage and communicate security concerns to the Director of Facilities.

School Safety Officer - Armed (New Orleans, LA)

NOLA Protection Group is seeking a dedicated, highly professional Part-Time Armed Security Officer to serve at Louise S. McGehee School. The Armed Security Officer is responsible for safeguarding students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors while maintaining a controlled, welcoming environment at the main access point. Candidates with prior law enforcement or military backgrounds are strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities & Post Duties

• Campus & Student Safety: Ensure the overall safety and security of all students, faculty, staff, and visitors across the campus property.

• Access Control & Greeting: Control access to the main gate at 2343 Prytania Street while greeting parents, students, employees, and guests with warmth and appropriate discretion.

• Deterrence & Response: Provide a visible, approachable, and professional presence to deter and respond appropriately to potential security threats or suspicious activity.

• Incident Management & Investigation: Calmly and discreetly investigate suspicious situations. Coordinate with school administrators, NOLA Protection Group patrol, and local authorities (NOPD) when intervention or formal response is required.

• Post Continuity & Communication: Maintain constant communication with school administrators regarding security concerns. Communicate with the Director of Facilities prior to stepping away from post (including brief breaks) to ensure continuous gate coverage. Ensure a fellow team member covers the gate during breaks or perimeter/interior patrols.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: Prior experience in law enforcement, military service, or high-level armed security is strongly preferred.

• Licensing: Active Louisiana State Board of Private Security Examiners (LSBPSE) Armed Security Officer registration (or immediate eligibility to certify).

• Skills:
