Job summary

Wilson School District is seeking a School Monitor to ensure student safety across playgrounds, buses, lunchrooms, and hallways. The role operates under supervision during a traditional school year and may involve outdoor exposure to extreme temperatures. Pay is $16.00 per hour DOE.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED and IVP fingerprint clearance, with a focus on safety, communication, and proper incident reporting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
• Experience in a school or childcare environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Report difficulties or unusual problems to teachers and other staff.
• Be physically capable of prolonged standing, walking, and stooping.
• Direct students in gathering materials for activities when needed.
• Address safety factors when weather or other circumstances occur.
• Immediately report injuries to professional staff.
• Communicate positively with students and staff.
• Restrict students from inappropriate behavior.
• Dismiss classes in an orderly manner at scheduled times.
• Inspect playground daily and address hazards.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies.
• Administer first aid when needed and follow safety practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
