Job summary

Arizona State Schools for the Deaf and the Blind - ASDB seeks a Non-CDL Route Driver to transport students on daily routes, greet students in the morning, and ensure timely arrivals to and from school.

This safety-sensitive role requires pre-employment and random drug testing, background checks, and completion of required trainings such as CIT, CPR, and First Aid, plus ASL learning for communication with students and staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years driving experience.
• Willing to participate in ASL classes provided by the Agency.
• Willing to learn ASL vocabulary to communicate with students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate the state vehicle on assigned routes.
• Transport school-aged children and other authorized personnel.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain order and safety; enforce student discipline in the vehicle.
