Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing seeks a School Registered Nurse (RN) to oversee the nursing process and delivery of student care in a school setting. The RN supports the physical, mental and emotional well-being of students within the school and promotes health and safety, responding to medical emergencies and managing chronic conditions.

The School RN collaborates with families, school staff and healthcare providers, following Amergis’ philosophy, standards, policies and physician orders.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of employment.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• School Nurse Certification as required by state or contract.
• One year of school nursing, public health or pediatric experience preferred.
• Complies with all applicable professional standards of practice.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• TB questionnaire/PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Current Health certificate per contract or state regulation.
• Must meet federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the nursing process and delivery of student care in a school setting.
• Support the physical, mental and emotional well-being of students within the school.
• Promote health and safety, respond to medical emergencies, and manage chronic conditions.
• Serve as liaison between families, school staff and healthcare providers.
