Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to support schools near Newark, NJ. In this contract role, you’ll provide direct nursing care for students and staff, manage medications, and respond to health emergencies to keep the learning environment safe.

You’ll collaborate with school counselors and administrators, document health records, and educate staff on health protocols. NJ RN licensure in good standing and prior school or pediatric experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid RN licensure in New Jersey, in good standing.
• Experience in school settings or with pediatric populations preferred.
• Strong clinical skills in assessment, triage and emergency response.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care and first aid to students and staff.
• Administer prescribed medications and specialized treatments as required.
• Monitor and manage chronic health conditions among students.
• Collaborate with school counselors, teachers and administrators on health plans.
• Maintain accurate health records and documentation per policies and state regulations.
• Educate students and staff on health, hygiene and safety protocols.
• Respond swiftly to emergencies and provide crisis intervention as necessary.
• Serve as a resource for health-related questions within the school community.
