Job summary

Onward Education is partnering with a Providence County school district to hire a Registered Nurse (RN) for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time role provides one-on-one nursing support at a middle school during school hours, with shifts aligned to the school day and student needs.

The RN will monitor health status, administer medications as ordered, assist with ventilator and G-tube needs as required, and collaborate with the educational team to maintain a safe learning environment for a

Qualifications

• Active Rhode Island RN license.
• Ability to support a medically complex student requiring ventilator support.
• Ability to support enteral (G-tube) feeding needs as required.
• Ability to assist with transfers that may require a two-person lift when needed.
• Ability to monitor and help manage skin breakdown and other fragile medical considerations.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 nursing coverage for an assigned student during the school day and related transitions.
• Track the student’s health status throughout the day and act promptly when changes are observed.
• Give medications as ordered and operate/support required medical equipment during the school day.
• Respond to urgent medical situations and follow appropriate emergency procedures.
• Help ensure the student can safely take part in learning activities while receiving needed clinical support.
