Job summary

Nbutexas is hiring a School Registered Nurse in Wilton, CT to provide student-centered healthcare in a collaborative school setting.

The role focuses on assessing health needs, developing care plans, administering medications, and coordinating health screenings, while working with families, educators, and health professionals.

Qualifications

• Active Connecticut Registered Nurse license is required.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in pediatrics, school health, or emergency department.
• Current CPR/AED certification is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
• Strong pediatric/young adult assessment skills.
• Knowledge of developmental milestones.
• Strong organization and multitasking abilities.
• Comfortable utilizing electronic health records and other computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Assess student health concerns and determine appropriate interventions, referrals, or emergency response.
• Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with specialized health needs.
• Administer medications and maintain documentation per Connecticut school health requirements.
• Coordinate required student health screenings, immunization compliance, and cumulative health records.
• Participate in school teams as the clinical health resource for student health needs.
• Identify and respond to communicable disease concerns within the school environment.
• Provide health education and guidance to students, parents, teachers, and staff.
• Delegate and supervise assigned responsibilities to school health office staff when applicable.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience working with students who have complex or special healthcare needs
• Strong communication skills with children, parents, educators, and multidisciplinary teams
