Job summary

ISD 728 is seeking a General Assistant for School Readiness to support ECFE/SR classes at Handke Family Center. The role involves tutoring, data collection, materials preparation, and assisting with events and activities. The work schedule is flexible and primarily aligned with school-year programs.

Starting pay is $21.18 per hour. You will assist teachers, maintain confidentiality, supervise students, and may perform clerical duties and ticket tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to work with parents, students and staff.
• Experience with classroom technology is desirable.
• Willingness to follow directions.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• General office skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Overtime including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work with children birth to five.
• First Aid/CPR and early childhood training desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in tutoring students and collect data to support classroom management.
• Help prepare instructional materials and shop for supplies as needed.
• Set up, organize and replace consumable materials for student use.
• Apply positive behavior management techniques as directed.
• Maintain confidentiality of family and program information.
• Work as a team with ECFE staff to promote a positive educational environment.
• Supervise students in lunchroom, classroom, playground and other areas.
• Perform general duties: filing, copying, data entry, answering phones.
• Assist with event tickets and tallying as needed.
• Other job-related duties as assigned.
