Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and determine eligibility for special education and related services per NJAC 6A:14.
  • Serve as a member of the basic Child Study Team.

  • Deliver related services to students.
  • Provide preventive and support services to students with disabilities.
  • Advise general education staff on techniques, materials and programs for students experiencing difficulties in learning.
  • Prepare psychological assessment reports per state regulations.
  • Interpret assessments to parents, teachers, principals and staff.
  • Participate in classification, placement recommendations and IEP development.
  • Serve on I&RT/CORE teams as directed.
  • Act as a resource person and consultant for Morris School District staff, students, parents and the community.
  • Communicate with school and community committees/agencies.
  • Maintain contacts with other mental health and special education professionals.
  • Provide school-based psychological or crisis-intervention services as needed.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interpret psychological assessments to parents, teachers, principals and otherappropriate staff members.

  • Serve as a member of the I&RT Team or CORE Team as directed.
  • Act as a resource person and consultant for Morris School District staff members, students, parents and the community.

Position requires appropriate New Jersey Certification.

Salary: In accordance with the established MorrisSchool DistrictSalary Guide currently ranging from$64,425 – $115,315

Effective September 1, 2011,The New Jersey First Act implemented May 17, 2011, requires all employees of a school district to reside in the state of New Jersey. Employees of the Morris School District hired after the effective date who do not reside in the State of New Jersey at the time of hire have one year from the effective date of employment to relocate their primary residence to New Jersey. Employees of the school district hired prior to the September 1, 2011 effective date of this Act are grandfathered and are not required to relocate to New Jersey.
